LFW Day 4: Twenty8twelve

Location: Howick Place, SW1
Joanne Black style: same as Pringle

Joanne Black's official show invitation

The collection: Sienna and Savannah Miller’s Houngonikon-themed collection was a heady mix of sexy lycra dresses, swimsuits, mini skirts, cropped vests and 80s style jumpsuits – all worn with hairbands. It was a show with as many cultural references as there were outfits, but with such a wonderful warehouse setting, this event was not to be missed.
The wish list: The black and white vest body top would look great in my wardrobe.
The style: As the last to arrive and first to leave, the show – and its audience – went by in a bit of a blur. I did, however, love the music by Jim Morrison.

LFW Day 4: Jaeger London

The location: Somerset House
Joanne Black style: same as Duro Olowu

Joanne Black's official invitation to Jaeger London

The collection: We like Stuart Stockdale. This Jaeger London Design Director’s signature style is all about aiming for ‘maximum impact, in an effortless way’ whether it be ‘easy dresses with gorgeous detail’ or ‘statement coats in luxury cloths’. Inspired by Jaeger’s vast archive, Guy Bourdin’s 70s photography and Charlotte Rampling, Stockdale’s collection was glamourous and gorgeous in every way. With everything from oversize sweaters, gold harlem pants and wide black shorts to gold-encrusted evening jackets and statement jewellery, this was a show filled with sparkling style surprises.
The wish list:
Shoes, shoes and more shoes! Stockdale’s sexy wedges, peep-toes and pumps – not to mention a fab ankle boot – were delightful.
The style:
The press had Anna Wintour in their sights so it was hard to focus on anything else.

LFW Day 4: Duro Olowu

Location: Thomas Dane Gallery, Duke Street
Joanne Black style: Duro Olowu silk dress, Lanvin trainers and black tights.

Colour is order of the day at Duro Olowu's presentation

Duro Olowu's pink dress is on my wish list.

The collection: If you are looking to add colour to your wardrobe, you need Duro Olowu in your life. It was business as usual for Olowu, who wowed us with fantastic colours and silk fabrics from his latest collection. Inspired by the colours of Picasso’s ‘Mosqueteros’ paintings, feather textiles of ancient Peru and 125th Street in Harlem, Olowu’s presentation was extraordinary and, with the chance to view the clothes up-close on mannequins, a rare fashionable treat.
The wish list: I’m a big fan of Olowu’s fab pink dress and black and white blouse.
The style: Not often do you find such a relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to chat to Olowu himself.
